A galvanised trailer has been dipped in a hot bath of molten zinc, producing a chemical reaction that leaves a coating on the metal surface. This coating gives protection against the elements and prevents a trailer from rusting, making galvanising an especially valuable process for trailers that are used and stored in coastal locations.
